Bank accounts for those
living outside
the UK but within the EU

Do you live in the EU, but outside the UK?

You could still be able to open a bank account with us. Start by having a look at the accounts we offer and decide if any of these are suitable for you.

Accounts we offer…

Foundation account

A simple account to help you manage your money. This account doesn’t have an overdraft facility or cheque book.

Our everyday account

Our everyday bank account is called Select. It has no monthly fee and with it you can get a range of time-saving features, such as a Visa debit card and our easy to use Mobile Banking app. This account can be opened as a joint bank account. Mobile banking is available to Digital Banking customers with a UK mobile number.

Student account

Student life is tough enough as it is, so we’re doing our bit to help. This account has no monthly fee.

What we need...

Proof of identity

When opening an account with us we will need to verify your identity. To make this easier for you we have listed out the types of ID we can accept. See our list of ID.

Proof of address

We also need another document to use as proof of your address and this can’t be the same document used as proof of ID. See our list of acceptable documents.

Proof of your Student status

The simplest way to prove your student status is to enter your 16 digit UCAS Status Code in to the application form. This is a 16-digit code emailed to you by UCAS.
