Reduced Foreign Transaction fees for Select Silver account customers

Take advantage of reduced FX fees this Summer with your Royal Bank Select Silver account. You'll only be charged a 2% Foreign Purchase fee when you make any purchases on your debit card during the 18th of May to the 5th of October.

We're also waiving the £1 minimum fee, to help you spend more, little and often.

This offer applies to Foreign Purchase Fee only. You will continue to incur fees when withdrawing cash abroad using an ATM and other local fees may apply.

Report my card lost, stolen or damaged

If you think your debit card or any of your card details, such as your PIN number may have been stolen, you should report it to us to avoid the possibility of fraud.

You can now instantly report your card as lost, stolen or damaged through your mobile app . Simply open the app, tap on the account that your card is linked to and select 'Manage my card' to see your options.

You can also report your card by logging on to your Digital Banking.

A Direct Debit is an agreement between you and the organisation you’re paying, which allows the organisation you want to pay to collect varying amounts from your account – but only if you’ve been given advanced notice of the amounts and dates of collection.

You can easily view or cancel a Direct Debit via our Mobile App or through your Digital Banking.

While you can’t set up a Direct Debit without the input of the people you are paying, you can view and cancel your Direct Debit directly with us, whenever you like.

You have up until 8.20pm (UK time) on the day the payment is due to cancel.

Register your travel details at least 24 hours before your trip, and we'll do our best to ensure your holiday spending isn't affected at all.

Let us know you will be using your card abroad

If you have our mobile app, it’s easy to let us know you are going to use your debit card abroad.

Simply go to the app, tap on the account that your card is linked to, select 'Manage my card'and then select ‘Going Abroad’ to register your trip.

You can register one trip at a time. It can include up to seven countries and last 90 days. Register each country you are visiting. The marker will apply to all debit cards in your name. Joint account holders should register separately.

Lock my card

If you've misplaced your debit card, or want to stop it from being used, you can temporarily lock your card to protect it from unauthorised use. You can lock and unlock your card at any time using your mobile app.

Take out cash with Get Cash

Your mobile app has a function called Get Cash. This lets you take out cash when you don't have your card but need money - great for people who accidently leave their cards at home.

Withdraw up to £130 every 24 hours at our branded ATMs. You must have at least £10 available in your account and an active debit card (locked or unlocked).

Simply log in to your app and click on the “Get Cash” icon - you’ll find it at the bottom of the app home screen.

You can make payments or transfers on the go by logging in to our mobile app . Using your mobile app you can:

Pay someone new* up to £1000 without a card reader.
Pay saved payees.
Create, amend and cancel regular payments.

*There is a maximum of 5 payments totalling £1000 per day. You must be aged 16 or over.

Alternative log in to Digital Banking where you can view your balance and statements, make payments, transfers and more to help manage your account.

If you're already a Royal Bank of Scotland customer and have recently changed your account, there's no need to activate. You get to keep your existing card and PIN.

If your existing card is not Contactless and you have an eligible account, you can request a new card, giving you a quick and simple way to make purchases up to £30.

We provide all our personal and premier customers with an accessible debit card.

It’s been specially designed to be easier to use, especially if you have accessibility needs. The card has several features:

A notch carved out of the side of the card, to help you work out which way round to insert your card into a cash machine or card reader.
A series of raised dots or lines, so you’ll know which card is your Royal Bank of Scotland card.
Telephone numbers on the back of the card are 50% larger to make reading easier.

Numbers on our accessible card are not embossed. If you require braille, large print or audio correspondence, an embossed card accredited by the Royal National Institute of Blind People is available.
